GE Appliances

At GE Appliances, our dedication to American manufacturing is more than a century strong, rooted in innovation and a commitment to quality. As the fastest-growing appliance manufacturing company in the U.S., we take pride in building appliances that serve half of all American homes.

A Nationwide Presence

Our headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, is the heart of our operations. Established in 1951, Appliance Park spans 750 acres and houses over 8,000 employees, including 1,600 design and manufacturing engineers. This facility produces a range of appliances, from washers and dryers to dishwashers and refrigerators. Beyond Kentucky, our manufacturing footprint extends to:

  • Decatur, Alabama: Since 1977, our Decatur plant has been producing top-freezer refrigerators. Employing 1,300 people, it's the largest private employer in Morgan County.
  • LaFayette, Georgia: Our LaFayette facility specializes in cooking products, contributing significantly to our diverse product lineup.
  • Selmer, Tennessee: Home to Monogram Refrigeration LLC, this plant focuses on high-end refrigeration units, reflecting our commitment to luxury and quality.
  • Camden, South Carolina: This facility plays a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of essential components.

In addition to these major plants, we've expanded our innovative reach with microfactories in Connecticut and Kentucky, fostering rapid product development and customization.

Investing in American Jobs

Our commitment to U.S. manufacturing is evident through substantial investments and job creation. Since 2016, we've invested over $2 billion in our U.S. manufacturing and distribution operations, leading to the creation of more than 4,000 new jobs. In Kentucky alone, our investments have contributed $7.46 billion to the state's GDP, with over $517 million spent annually with more than 640 local suppliers.

Recognized Excellence

Our dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture has not gone unnoticed. In 2023, Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine named GE Appliances among the Best Workplaces in Manufacturing & Production for the second consecutive year.

A Legacy of Innovation

From introducing the first self-cleaning oven to pioneering WiFi-connected appliances, our history is rich with innovations that have transformed American households. Our ongoing investments in technology and facilities ensure that we continue to lead in appliance innovation, delivering products that make life better.

At GE Appliances, our commitment to U.S. manufacturing is unwavering. We believe in the power of American ingenuity and are dedicated to building appliances that serve our customers, create jobs, and strengthen communities across the nation.
