Big News: The Appliance Barn Joins the Grand Appliance Family
We are incredibly excited to announce that effective June 1, 2025, The Appliance Barn of Kalona, IA, joined the Grand Appliance family!
This isn't just an acquisition; it's a partnership rooted in similar histories and shared values. Like Grand Appliance, The Appliance Barn is a multi-generation, family-run business known for high-touch customer service, knowledgeable appliance experts and dedication to the communities it serves. They’ve been a trusted name in Eastern Iowa for decades and we are honored to carry that legacy forward.

The blending of the two companies will lead to many benefits for each of its customers. For Grand Appliance, The Appliance Barn brings a large, sophisticated service operation that we’re excited to integrate into our full Iowa footprint that also includes the Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids. The Appliance Barn is also a very successful mattress retailer with additional brands that will provide more options for Grand Appliance customers.
For The Appliance Barn, Grand brings scale to expand upon it’s solid foundation. From additional warehouse and inventory capabilities that will lead to faster deliveries to an expanded customer service department that will lead to faster solutions to expanded technology solutions that will lead to great efficiencies, Grand is ready to super charge all the existing great things about The Appliance Barn. Also, Grand Appliance brings expanded appliance brand offerings - most notably the GE family of brands that includes GE, GE Profile, Cafe, Monogram, Hotpoint and Haier.

Coming Soon: A Brand New The Appliance Barn Showroom
We’re especially pleased to announce that Grand Appliance will be bringing Brylee’s vision for an expanded showroom in Kalona to life later this year. The facility, which is 42,000 square feet in total, will feature a massive 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art appliance and mattress showroom that is approximately double the size of the current showroom. We share in Brylee’s vision that the showroom can serve as the premier destination for appliance and mattress shoppers in Eastern Iowa.
