In addition to its 12 Months of Giving program, the GRAND Foundation has ramped up its efforts to assist some of the groups most affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.Â
The main thrust of the GRAND Foundation’s support is directed towards Feeding America’s network of food shelters. The Foundation recently made a large donation to Feeding America, which, in turn, dispersed the funds to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana in Indianapolis, River Bend Food Bank in Davenport, Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin in Madison, Second Harvest of Eastern Wisconsin in Milwaukee and Northern Illinois Food Bank in Chicagoland.Â

In addition, the Foundation has gone back to support a past recipient of its 12 Months of Giving program, Little Sisters of the Poor St. Augustine Home, which is an assisted living community in Indianapolis. The Foundation donated laptops to help the residents stay connected to loved ones, activity books to help residents pass the time and organized a letter-writing campaign among Grand employees to send messages of hope to the residents as they weather the epidemic.Â

Finally, the GRAND Foundation is proud to have donated to the Mask Brigade on Antioch, a grassroots organization that sprang to action to make and donate masks to first responders, nursing and assisted living facilities, waste management and other essential service organizations in need of protection. The organization has made and donated more than 17,000 masks so far and we’re glad to be helping them as they push for 20,000 and beyond.
