5 Ice Cream Sundae Recipes

by Waverly Wilde

It may be wintertime but that doesn’t mean you can only eat hot desserts. Nope—ice cream is good no matter what the season is! As long as it’s solid and cold, there’s not much better dessert to eat than a scoop of ice cream. That is, of course, unless you transform it into a sundae! Level up your sundae game by putting your freezer to work and trying out some of these mouthwatering recipes we found!

1. The Classic Hot Fudge Sundae

We couldn’t create this list without adding the original hot fudge sundae into the mix. This recipe calls for 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a bowl, smothered in an ample amount of hot fudge. While this recipe specifically recommends Ghirardelli hot fudge, feel free to use whatever kind you enjoy the most. Top it off with a dab of whip cream, chopped almonds, and of course, a cherry on top!

2. S’mores Sundae

If you find yourself wanting “s’more” than just ice cream, this little treat is bound to get you feeling nostalgic! That’s right—this sundae pays homage to the tasty little campfire treat. This s’more sundae recipe teaches you not only how to put it together but how to make the graham cracker ice cream and marshmallows as well! Store the ice cream in the freezer after you finish preparing it and when you are ready for a taste of camping, pull it out and enjoy with marshmallows and hot fudge.

3. Fruit Loops Sundae

Froot Loops cereal tastes great in milk, so why not put it in a different form of that, like vanilla ice cream? Of course, if that wasn’t daring enough for you, add 2 scoops of orange sherbet and raspberry syrup to the concoction. If you’ve never had breakfast for dessert, you’ll want to try it for a change!

4. Caramel Apple Ice Cream Sundae

If you’re more of a pie person, we’ve found just the sundae for you! Instead of baking an entire pie, just heat some thinly sliced apples sprinkled in sugar in a skillet and use the caramelized pieces of fruit to top your bowl of vanilla ice cream. Any remaining caramel can and should be drizzled all over your apple sundae!

5. Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae

When chocolate and peanut butter meet, it’s a beautiful thing. And when they meet in a warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and peanut butter cups, it’s almost magical. Follow this gooey recipe while wearing a pair of non-restrictive pants and enjoy the guilt-free experience.

When the sweet-tooth cravings come on, there’s not much you can do but to satisfy them. But, if your freezer doesn’t work or it doesn’t maintain a cool enough temperature, your solid ice cream will turn straight into liquid.
