About This Delafield Kitchen by JFK Design Build
For the clients of this Delafield home just outside of the JKF Design Build headquarters, the concept was clear: a farmhouse-inspired space that’s been refined, while retaining an inviting feel the family can enjoy alone or while entertaining company.
This kitchen gets a dose of coziness from exposed, reclaimed ceiling beams, exposed brick walls, and double kitchen islands that nest stools — the perfect place to enjoy casual brunches on the weekend or to host a soiree.
For upscale feel, the team at JFK Design Build installed white countertops with matching white cabinets and panel-ready appliances for an expansive and open feel. The high-end look was just the right canvas for high-performance appliances, and in this case, the designers and clients agreed Thermador appliances were the right fit. Here’s how these luxury appliances were worked into this kitchen design.
Using a Thermador Rangetop & Ventilation in This Design
A powerful cooking station spearheaded by a Thermador rangetop pops against the other panel-ready appliances finished in matching white cabinetry. The centerpiece has been thoughtfully installed between two expansive islands, making it easy to pivot between meals and guests and family.
Crafted in premium stainless steel and a professional build, this kitchen’s Thermador six-burner gas rangetop is powerful as it is impressive. Highlights include a series of Pedestal Star Burners with all front burners capable of delivering up to 18,000 BTUs of firepower. Whether it’s a sauté or a flambé, hungry viewers seated at the island countertops will be enjoy the show and food this 36” rangetop produces.

The Thermador 60” range hood insert selected for this is fashioned in an elegant white hood cover with traditional architecture that celebrates the craftsmanship of farmhouse design. This allows the kitchen ventilation to coexist with the carefully selected white cabinetry and countertops while providing the utility the clients requested.
Four hood lights are great for ambience or preparing meals at night, while four fan speeds with flow rates up to 1,300 CFM keep the cooking setting comfortable and free of smoke or odors. And with Wi-Fi enabled controls, the owners of this kitchen can even manage the range from a smart device.

A Thermador Speed Oven Combo Adds Modern Convenience
JFK Design keeps the flow of this kitchen moving by installing a Thermador speed oven combo against the side wall. The stainless steel finish complements the look and feel of the rangetop for visual balance, and its convenient layout frees the countertop and rangetop overhead of the need of a microwave.
This duo is designed for performance with 16 bake modes, a total 5.1 cubic feet of capacity, Wi-Fi compatibility, and a speed oven that can microwave and bake with convection. This speed oven combo is strategically installed across from one of the kitchen islands, making it easy to present guests and family with quick appetizers and main entrées right at the countertop for a truly farmhouse feel.

Thermador Column Refrigeration Provides Customization
It’s not easy to camouflage large appliances, but the team at JFK Design Build did a brilliant job when it came to the Thermador refrigeration used in this space. Like the dishwasher and hood, these all-freezer and all-refrigerator columns have been fitted to coordinate with the custom cabinetry. The effect not only provides a high-end look, but it also accentuates the open kitchen concept.
Aside from preserving the look of this kitchen design, Thermador’s luxury refrigeration with ThermaFresh System and specialized humidity- and temperature-controlled drawers preserves all the fresh ingredients the client stocks in this smart column refrigerator. At 15.8 cubic feet of capacity, the matching 30” freezer column provides equal frozen food storage, plus a specialty ice maker with diamond ice cubes.
Hidden in this shot behind the immediate countertop is a Thermador dishwasher (model # DWHD650WPR) that’s been customized to complement the cabinetry. Its white cover blends in with its surroundings and highlights a signature apron sink that every farmhouse kitchen has to have.

As we move into the mudroom, the romantic farmhouse takes on a new phase with a pop of color found in the countryside. A floral motif in lilac adds French flair, and hexagonal floor tiles provide a touch of modernity. Meanwhile, white countertops tie in the look of the adjacent kitchen, while black cabinets add a distinguished look that separates the two spaces.
LG Laundry Appliances: A Modern Twist on Tradition
But, as the clients noted, convenience is key, which is why LG laundry appliances were chosen for this renovated mudroom. LG is a leader when it comes to washers and dryers, showcasing a lineup of high-performance laundry appliances that are designed for the modern home.
This top load washer and dryer pair from LG is a workhorse gilded with premium features. For instance, the high-capacity top load washer comes with TurboWash3D to wash loads in 29 minutes, 6Motion Technology to care for fabrics even better, and ThinQ wireless programming.
The extra-large dryer with 7.3 cubic feet of capacity can even communicate with the washer to know the ideal drying cycle based on the type of wash. That’s on top of great features like Sensor Dry technology that detects humidity levels to protect clothes from over-drying, or LG’s Easy Load door that can be used by swinging open or dropping down. Smart, modern, and efficient — just what the clients asked for.
