For professional builders Jason Black and Jimmy King of Artisan Signature Homes, only Monogram’s suite of professional kitchen appliances could get the job done for this Southern-style home in Prospect, Kentucky. According to Black, “Monogram was the first person we recommended Southern Living chat with, and it worked out to be a great partnership,” crediting the luxury appliance brand as the sole muse of the design. The collaboration proved to be a success, earning the team a feature on the cover of Southern Living magazine in a standout demonstration of the reimagined southern home.
Despite its fresh take, the goal was always clear. “We’ve dubbed this the forever house. You can live here, retire here, raise kids here. There’s an in-law suite with separate entry,” Black says, adding, “Flexibility was the thought of this space.” Together with expert interior designer Sarah Bartholomew and architect Brandon Ingram, the group of professional home conceptualists capture the welcoming essence of southern style that’s at the core of Kentucky lifestyle, elevating it with modern sentiments for an inviting space that lavishes in luxury. The tour begins with an open and airy floorplan completely surrounded by white wood paneling, a design choice Black and King explain will only add more homestyle character with age. The blank canvas is a cheerful backdrop where gold accents from hardware and light fixtures pop and that brings the eyeline directly down to a custom painted floor in a mosaic of blues and whites.
The combination of cool tones plays particularly well with the warm notes on a butcher-style island that extends from one side of the kitchen to the next, beautifully complemented by wicker chairs that extend the easy-breezy feel of the space. The choice is a nod to editor-in-chief, Sid Evans of Southern Living, and his vision for a space that is “flexible, with multi-purpose spaces to work,” whether it’s enjoying a cup of coffee while taking in the view of the Ohio River, gathering for a casual meal, or perfecting the art of e-learning.
Directly across from the island is this kitchen’s tour de force à la Monogram 48-inch dual-fuel range. Meticulously crafted with solid-brass knobs, a digital interface, two ovens, and up to 23,000 BTUs of firepower, this smart luxury range is made with gourmet kitchens like this model in mind. In the words of Black, “We wanted to create a house that you had to explore,” and the diverse cooktop on this pro-style range, with a grill, griddle, burners, and convection baking, are sure to pique and satisfy the culinary curiosity of its users.
In case you missed it, a Monogram 48-inch custom hood above the range is ready to keep this cooking space comfortable and free of smoke and heat. The Artisan Signature Home team opted to carry the white-on-white theme with an overlay complete with trim molding reminiscent of classic architecture in true southern fashion.
For more formal affairs, enter the dining room located next to the kitchen. Its traditional charm is hard to miss, but a Monogram 36-inch built-in column refrigerator and freezer custom-fitted with panel overlays located before the dining area blend perfectly into the space. Each is Wi-Fi compatible with 21.4 cubic feet of storage, water filtration, and advanced temperature and humidity control for produce as fresh as this kitchen’s design.
Behind the scenes, a fully functional scullery and galley-style butler’s pantry provides an additional opportunity to showcase Monogram high-performance appliances. The ensemble includes:

The compact profile is ideal for corners and crevices, but with the ability to yield 48 pounds of ice a day, this compact luxury appliance is a high performer whether it’s entertaining or concocting a mid-day beverage.
The full-home design continues outdoors, where the Ohio River echoes this home’s quintessential southern comfort with a blend of outdoor charm and premium design.
