The Essentials

Long shot of Wolf rangetop, ventilation, and double wall oven, and Sub-Zero refrigerator in Baltimore Row kitchen design by Bria Hammel

Hammel and her team instantly recognized a major challenge in this kitchen: there are just two walls. That required knowing how to strategically incorporate appliances for a natural workflow and optimum practicality. In order to promote a feeling of thoughtful design, the team used a galley-style layout with a large kitchen island made of classic marble, with matching countertops for cohesion.

Using this format allows the clients to pivot from the Wolf gas rangetop to the main sink located parallel to it on the kitchen island. This allowed the clients to enjoy the Wolf six-burner rangetop with up to 20,000 BTUs of heat output, an edge-to-edge grate design, and sealed burners for easy cleanup, all while utilizing an open workspace.

Above the rangetop, a beautifully customized Wolf hood liner that Hammel and her colleagues expertly crafted with touches of gold and rivets for a dash of timeless industrial flair. Though discreet, the professional range hood offers undeniable performance, from heat sentry technology that automatically responds to temperatures 200 degrees and over, and with up to 1,500 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air circulation to quickly clear the space of heat, smoke, and air contaminants.

Playing elegantly into the gold accent is a Sub-Zero French door refrigerator fitted in a matching panel that extends the classic charm of this kitchen’s Shaker-style cabinetry. The metallic hardware adds a dash of warmth that complements the cool gray undertones, but style isn’t the only area this professional food preservation center provides. Inside, dual refrigeration and air purification inspired by NASA keep storage conditions at immaculate settings, while a microprocessor keeps this professional refrigerator at top performance, great for enthusiastic entertainers like these clients.

Of course, part of being a great host is serving up delicious meals and drinks. The Hammel Interiors team turned to a Wolf double wall oven setup to maximize efficiency and cut cooking times down to half. Part of the M Series of wall ovens, this appliance adds a dose of traditional charm that naturally pairs with the traditional style of this kitchen. With customizable knobs, this series allowed Hammel and her designers to stick to the muted color palate over Wolf’s iconic red knobs, while the clean lines and professional-inspired hardware add to the elegance of the space.

Just as appetizing are a spacious 10.2 cubic feet of baking space, exclusive Dual VertiCross convection for superior heat distribution, and a Gourmet feature preset with over 50 cooking settings for popular entrées.

The appliance strategically sits on the opposite side of the double wall oven for enhanced workflow, and a handy addition to the bar station setup.
